About the Event
Ten years after its founding in 1936, members of The Hellenic Women's Club held a small dinner dance (now known as the Mistletoe Ball) to raise funds to assist war-torn Greece. For years, proceeds supported war orphans as members shipped bundles of clothing, medicine, bandages and food overseas.
In addition to its philanthropic success, the dance became a highly anticipated annual social event. In its many decades, The Ball has seen thousands of repeat customers dance their way across the ballrooms of major hotels in Boston and Cambridge to the strains of big band, Greek, rock and swing music. Most importantly, these thousands of guests have enabled astonishing growth in the scope and nature of The Hellenic Women’s Club’s philanthropic efforts.
